The Takamine NP-65C was discontinued in 1999. The NP-65C had a single cutaway country classic body shape. The soundboard was solid cedar, with 3 ply binding and a wooden rosette made from Paduk/Ebony/Maple. The back and sides and fingerboard were rosewood and the neck was made from mahogany neck.
The headstock was a slotted classical style with 3 a side gold colored tuners with amber pearloid buttons. The ebony bridge had piezo pickup, with a semi-parametric preamp (Takamine Accuracoustic system). This model came in natural finish only.
