In 2023, Ibanez introduced the EWP12EWB, an acoustic-electric piccolo guitar in the EWP series that includes a soft case. The EWP12E features a tenor-style EW shape with a soft Florentine cutaway and a laminated acacia top with black binding on the Acacia back and sides with an open pore finish. The round soundhole has an abalone rosette. It has an okoume neck with a 19-fret purpleheart fingerboard with black binding and maple dot position markers. Components include an ivory plastic saddle in a purpleheart bridge, a plastic nut and chrome die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an undersaddle pickup connected to an AEQ-2U preamp powered by 2 coin cells and feeding a ¼” endpin output.
