For more than a decade, Mark Holcomb has shaped the sound of progressive metal as a member of Periphery’s triple-guitar onslaught. His distinctive blend of syncopated down-tuned rhythms and rapid-fire angular leads perfectly complements fellow Periphery guitarists Jake Bowen and Misha Mansoor — the latter of whom Mark has played with in the band Haunted Shores since 2010. In 2015, Mark and PRS collaborated on a limited-edition signature model to cater to Mark’s highly technical style, and the model has gone on to reign as a go-to instrument among metalheads and rockers alike in PRS’s run of SE Mark Holcomb signature guitars. The PRS Core Mark Holcomb Signature sports two hard-hitting humbuckers designed in collaboration between Mark and Seymour Duncan: Scarlet and Scourge.
